Device Templates
A Device Template holds the screenshot frames for one device class — iPhone, say, or Android phone. You design it once, and every locale is built from it.
To create one, select the frames on the canvas and choose Create Device Template, or choose Create empty Device Template and add frames afterwards. Choose the Device type so Asorium knows which store sizes apply. Add more devices to the same file with Add device.
Supported devices
The plugin covers every device class the stores have a storefront for:
- App Store: iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Mac.
- Google Play: Android phone, 7" and 10" tablets, Wear OS, Android TV, Chromebook and Android XR.
Apple accepts exact sizes only, so a frame of the wrong size is refused by the plugin before the upload rather than by the store after it. Google Play accepts a range: take a ready-made preset or set your own size, and the plugin checks the frame before it is sent.
Chromebook and Android XR screenshots are uploaded in Play Console by hand, because Google has no API for them. Markup, translation and export work for them as usual.
Frames
To add a screenshot to a device, choose New frame. Start from an Empty frame or Pick from canvas, and choose whether it goes to All locales.
If the frames of some locales end up in a different order from the Template, Sync order puts them back in the Template's order.
Locales
Add a locale with New locale. Each locale gets its own copy of the device's frames, and that copy is where its translated text and images live. The base locale is the language your source copy is written in; if the plugin flags a problem with it, use Fix base locale.
Asorium has 75 built-in locales — the App Store and Google Play lists combined. You can also add your own code in BCP 47 form, for example de-AT. Only locales the store itself lists can be published: a locale the store does not accept is skipped during upload and named in the run report, and it still works as a language inside your file.
Locale changes across devices
When a file has several devices, Settings → Personalization → Apply locale changes decides what adding or removing a locale on one device does to the others: Always ask, To all devices, or To the edited device only.
